Minsk, June 16 (RHC)-- Belorussian President Alexander Lukashenko says he sees good potential for economic cooperation between his country and Cuba, based on long-standing friendship bonds forged during the Soviet-era.

The Belorussian head of state met Wednesday in Minsk with a visiting Cuban government delegation. During the exchange, Lukashenkoh spoke highly of Cuban revolution leader Fidel Castro, calling him an example of integrity, courage and wisdom.

Also participating in the meeting was Belorussian Vice President Mijaíl Rusy, who said his country would greatly benefit also from Cuba's significant advances in the biotechnology and medical research fields.
