Havana, June 30 (RHC)-- Executives and experts of Cuban and foreign banking entities participated here in Havana in the 1st International Meeting on Monetary Transfer and Family Remittances.
Hugo Cuevas-Mohr, Director of International Money Transfer Conferences, noted that due to restrictions imposed by Washington's nearly 60 year blockade towards Cuba, the Caribbean country can not engage in any direct currency transaction with U.S. banks, thus also hampering Cuba's financial ties with third countries and parties.
Irma Margarita Martínez, Vice President of the Cuban Central Bank, described the two-day conference as a big success for Cuba and the participating foreign firms.
