Cuban Deputies Describe Raul's Speech as Mobilizing

Havana, July 9 (RHC)-- Cuban deputies described President Raul Castro's closing speech at the National Assembly of People's Power as enlightening, guiding and motivating.  In comments to reporters following the closing session, lawmakers said the speech will help meet the challenges of the country in the coming years.

Pedro Victor Simon Rodriguez, representative of the Granma municipality of Cauto Cristo, told reporters that the words of Raul Castro will help encourage workers and the people.

Estrella Fonseca Alvarez, deputy for the Havana municipality of San Miguel del Padron, said that Raul's words to Parliament "incite more than ever to implement the Guidelines for Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution."

Vivian Cruz Abreu, a representative for Melena del Sur in Mayabeque, said that a better and rational use of resources must be encouraged to continue advancing the economy.

Another deputy, José Ariel Cantero, Güines, Mayabeque, said: "We have high confidence in the leadership of the Communist Party and the National Assembly of People's Power, and we are confident that once again we will be victorious against these new challenges."
