Henry Reeve Brigade members arrive in Venezuela to help in fight against coronavirus

Caracas, March 16 (RHC) - A contingent of the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade, specialized in disaster situations and serious epidemics, is in Venezuela to help in the fight against the new coronavirus.

"We have been commissioned by our country, by our government, to assess the level of preparation and protection of our aid workers and to exchange experiences in the preparation of the National Plan being implemented in Cuba today," said Dr. José Ernesto Betancourt Lavastida, director of Defense and Civil Defense of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) in statements to Venezuelan TV from the runway of Maiquetía International Airport.-

Before their departure, the Public Health minister José Ángel Portal Miranda, reminded the brigadistas of the spirit of solidarity of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and assured them that Cubans will always be willing to offer help to those who need it:

 "Be sure that the Revolution and our people will thank you for this noble human gesture," he said.
