International organizations have pointed out that Cuba is a model for many nations, inasmuch as it not only offers its international collaboration, but also has trained more than 29,000 physicians from a hundred territories.

“Cuba is not only committed to the health of its people, but also to the whole region and the world. Solidarity is a basic principle of the Cuban Revolution,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published in its official Twitter account.

The hospitality towards the United Kingdom cruise ship MS Braemar, with five positive COVID-19 patients aboard, is an example. The ship was prevented from docking by several countries, and only Cuba opened its port of Mariel. Its passengers and crew undertook today the trip toward their country, flying form the José Martí international Airport.

Sacha Llorenti, Bolivian ambassador to the United Nations, expressed on social network, “a British cruise ship has been asking for a port to disembark. It has on board some people infected with coronavirus, and it has been rejected in several countries. Cuba, with its endless solidarity, has decided to receive it".

Over the years, governments and peoples benefiting from Cuban medical collaboration, on different occasions, have expressed their appreciation for this voluntary aid, whose main promoter was Comandante Fidel Castro.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez quoted on Twitter the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, who said: "Concerning foreign relations, we exercise our solidarity with deeds rather than with beautiful words."

“To be internationalist”, Fidel said,” is to pay our own debt to humanity. Those who are not capable of fighting for others will never be able to fight for themselves."

The development of internationalism has been a principle that distinguishes Cuban public health throughout its history, and it has been present as the undeniable foundation of Cuba’s prestige in the world.

The American writer Alice Walker wrote on social network that, with respect to Cuba’s policy of solidarity in spite of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, which constitutes a permanent obstacle: “It is time to put an end to the blockade against the Cuban people. Despite this genocidal and failed policy, Cuba opens its doors to save lives".
