While in the United States, lawmakers of alleged Cuban-origin in the Congress, and the U.S. Department of State maneuver to prolong an injustice against Cuba, in the Organization of American States, the OAS, they cannot overshadow voices that denounce such abuse.

The Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luis Gilberto Murillo, advocated the exclusion of Cuba from the arbitrary list of nations that, according to Washington, sponsor terrorism.

The head of Colombian diplomacy made the call no less than in the 54th Regular Session of the OAS, in Paraguay.

Murillo said that the Cuba has played a role that he described as crucial in the peace agreements with the defunct Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia and in the negotiations with the insurgent National Liberation Army.

Such a categorical expression rejects the maneuvers of former President Iván Duque, who for political interests urged the United States to return Havana to the list of countries that, according to the United States, sponsor terrorism.

Seduced by that ruse, even today the U.S. government and legislators with invoked Cuban roots desperately try to prevent the Caribbean island from being excluded from the flawed list.

They do not care that the spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, Stéphane Dujarric, appreciates Cuba's efforts in mediation processes and considers its permanence in the group of those who supposedly support terrorism contradictory.

Contrary to a position like the aforementioned, two US congressmen imposed legislation on State Department expenses in the House of Representatives, to prevent it from extracting the Caribbean nation from the arbitrary relationship of countries.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the anti-Cuban congressmen used corrupt and gangster methods to mobilize the Republican bloc in the House and approve the legislation.

They know that there is no evidence, but their motivations go back to the ambition to achieve the economic asphyxiation of Cuba, since remaining on the list limits their trade and access to credit.

This is a reality that the second social forum of CELAC, Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, in Honduras and the Progressive International organization, which brings together 83 parties, have taken note of.

These forums are part of an international community that mostly considers that the list of State sponsors of terrorism goes against the fundamental principles and norms of International Law.
