Brigada Venceremos de Solidaridad con Cuba

Once again among us is the Venceremos Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, which since its creation 55 years ago has accompanied the Cuban people in their just struggle against the blockade imposed by the United States more than six decades ago.
The Brigade, made up of citizens from about twenty US states, travels to Cuban territory every year to show its support for the largest of the Antilles, which is the object of an undeclared war by Washington.
Despite the prohibitions imposed by the criminal economic siege, threats and pressure, the first contingent arrived in our country in 1969 to get to know the Cuban reality, distorted by the great American press.
From that moment on, they would bring the truth about the Cuban Revolution and the obstacles that the blockade, condemned year after year by the UN General Assembly, represented for the progress of the Caribbean nation to other citizens of the North.
One of their main demands is the return of the territory illegally occupied by the United States in Guantanamo Bay since 1903, against the will of the Cuban government and people.
Now they have taken up the worldwide call for Cuba to be removed from the arbitrary list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism compiled by the United States of America.
And, as usual, the members of the Brigade visit historical sites, share with Cubans and also contribute to productive tasks and the repair of educational, health or social centers of great value.
Every year, the Venceremos Brigade sends a message of love and solidarity from the soil of the United States, where every day more and more people reject the genocidal blockade and support the normalization of relations between the two nations for the benefit of both peoples.
The Venceremos Brigade, the first to be founded internationally to express solidarity with Cuba, has shown throughout these decades that the Cuban people are not alone and have loyal friends on U.S. soil.
