Bridge to Havana International Festival
Havana, March 30 (ACN-RHC) -- ‘Mi Habana es Música’ or ‘My Havana is Music’ is the slogan of the 10th edition of the International Festival ‘Un Puente hacia la Habana’ (Bridge to Havana), to be held April 29th through May 1st on social media.
The event, created and directed by Cuban musician Jorge Luis Robaina, leader of the group Karamba, is sponsored by Cuba’s Record and Musical Editions Company, EGREM.
In statements to Cuban news Agency, Robaina stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic would not be an obstacle to hold the event, whose virtual program will include concerts, debates, the release of audiovisual materials, interviews, a photo contest and ‘much, much more,’ he said.
The musician added that among the issues to be discussed by those attending the event are the challenges arising from the impossibility to hold mass concerts and shows in the midst of so much global uncertainty, as a consequence of Covid-19.
In addition, Cuban musicians, journalists, musicologists and international artists who have participated in previous editions of the event will debate on "Revolution in the music industry: ways to promotes artists’ works in the new circumstances and generate income in the digital era".
Another highlight of the Festival will be the publication of the second volume of the CD ‘A Bridge to Havana’, featuring artists such as the duo Andy y Lucas, Carlos Torres, Buena Fe, Waldo Mendoza, David Blanco, among others.
The Festival ‘A Bridge to Havana’ aims to unite music professionals and create alliances in a unique environment to assess both the benefits and challenges to the music industry in the current context.
