Laritza Bacallao
Havana, May 30 (RHC)-- Cuban singer Laritza Bacallao presented her latest musical production entitled ‘Que Hablen’, at a press conference over the weekend at the Cultural Center in the Havana municipality of Plaza.
Launched by the Cuban record company EGREM, it mixes urban and dance music.
With musical production by Ángel Batule and Frank Ernesto Fernández, it introduces also elements of flamenco, as a tribute to Ibero-American roots of Cuban music and culture, in general.
With an artistic life spanning more than 20 years, Laritza said the album was a learning experience, since it is her first time as a composer and musical producer.
Regarding the selection of tunes, she mentioned her homage to two outstanding singers, American Whitney Houston and Canadian Celine Dion. The album includes versions in Spanish and English of hits by both artists.
Laritza Bacallao’s 11-track album is accompanied by an audiovisual and the making-off, produced by Alejandro Reyes.
EGREM’s director Mario Escalona said this latest album by Laritza Bacallao highlights the importance of alliances among music institutions, like the Cuban Music Institute, the Ministry of Culture, Clave Cubana agency, as well as Puntilla distributor and Producciones Colibrí label.
