Havana, July 11 (RHC)-- The Madrid-based Casa de América Cultural Center will pay homage to Cuban filmmaker and cartoonist Juan Padrón.
In statements to Prensa latina news agency, Ana Callejo, an executive with the Communications Division at Casa de América, said a restored and remastered digital copy of Padrón’s film ‘Vampiros en La Habana’ (from 1985) will be exhibited on July 19th at the Center.
Prior, on Friday July 16th, the book 'Padrón Mi vida en Cuba,’ will be presented at the Gabriela Mistral amphitheater of Casa de América. It compiles interviews and statements given by Padrón himself at different moments of his life, and highlights of his vast creative work.
Released by Reservoir Books, the book was already presented in San Cristóbal de Tenerife, in the framework of the 4th edition of the Quirino Awards of Ibero-American Animation Film.
