Proyecto Cultural Sur

Havana, July 22 (RHC)-- The Board of Proyecto Cultural Sur (Southern Culture Project) has issued a statement in support of Cuba and against destabilization plots promoted by Cuba enemies in and outside the Caribbean island state.

The text is reproduced on the website of the Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC). It blasts the genocidal economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed and maintained by consecutive US administrations against the Cuban nation and people over nearly 60 years and demands its lifting once and for all.

The statement notes that the US economic siege has been further tightened amidst covid-19, compounded with a fierce slander and misinformation campaign that seek to generate further shortages of basic commodities toward creating chaos, in Washington’s continued attempts to destroy the Cuban Revolution.

It notes, however, how amidst such complex circumstances, Cuba has developed at least two, probably more vaccines against Covid-19 and has also extended a helping hand to other nations and peoples, in our common fight against the pandemic.

The statement issued by Projecto Cultural Sur (Southern Culture Project) stresses that while fake news on Cuba’s reality may create confusion within certain population groups for a limited time, the truth always prevails.

The statement further states that the current crusade against Cuba follows the same recipe imposed against other nations Syria, Libya, Egypt, Yugoslavia, Venezuela, Bolivia, where US imperialism has sought regimen change.
