Cimafunk
Havana, Sept. 21 (RHC)-- Cuban singer-songwriter Cimafunk will release a new album on October 8th --the artist's second, entitled “El Alimento”.
Produced by Jack Splash, it includes 13 tracks, among them “Caramelo” and “Funk Aspirin”, featuring American music legend George Clinton. Both tracks already have accompanying music videos.
In statements to the press, Cimafunk said ‘Alimento’ is a turning point in his artistic career, his sonority and the whole Cimafunk concept.
‘It is like an experiment. My brother Jack Splash and I let the music flow and we just followed it. The collaborations in this album were spontaneous. These are people who I admire and call my friends,’ Cimafunk said.
Cimafunk, who is currently touring in the United States, achieved stardom in his native Cuba with hit tunes like ‘Me voy’ and ‘Paciente’, from his debut album ‘Terapia.’
He later achieved international acclaim in the United States and Europe.
‘My thing is to make music,’ he said. ‘At the end, this is not about me, but rather about Cuban music. Americans like it and so do also the Europeans. What we do is promote and defend Cuban contemporary music,’ said the popular artist.
