Havana, June 21 (RHC)-- The album “Como Cualquiera”, was presented in Havana over the weekend, as tribute to renowned Cuban singer-songwriter, the late Lourdes Torres.
The ceremony at Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura featured artists Niurka Reyes, María de Jesús, Laura Rodríguez and Dora Aguirre.
Producer Yunier Díaz said the album includes 17 tracks, 16 of them written by Lourdes Torres herself and one by Silvia González Guerra.
Released under EGREM label, the posthumous album constitutes the first ever production of the artist, as Lourdes Torres never recorded an album as soloists over more than six decades of artistic life.
Entitled after an all-time hit tune by the artist, ‘Como cualquiera’ was conceived some four years ago, but the process was temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cuban actor and National Humor Prize laureate Mario Aguirre wrote the album notes.
“Como Cualquiera” was first released on the digital platform Sandunga of Cuban music on April 29th, coinciding with the 83rd birthday anniversary of Lourdes Torres.
