Acosta Dance mourns the death of ballet maitre Ramona de Saá

Havana, April 18 (RHC) -- The dance company of Cuban dancer and choreographer Carlos Acosta mourns the death early this morning of ballet maitre Ramona de Saá Bello, a notable figure of ballet pedagogy in the contemporary world.

Through a statement on the social network facebook, Acosta Dance expressed its feelings for the death of Saá Bello, one of the most important names of Cuban dance.

"The Master has died, her work is in the blood that beats in the best of the ballet of our country in the last 50 years," published the company of the renowned dancer.

For Carlos Acosta, Saá will always be an essential part of his professional and human education. That is why he considers her his second mother, he wrote.

Saá Bello was one of the most outstanding personalities of contemporary dance pedagogy at a global level, internationally recognized and forger of the current teaching system in Cuba.

Her work as an educator was directly related to the artistic training of Cuban dancers of international fame.

Since February 2017 the main rehearsal hall of the Acosta Danza company bears the name of the Maestra.
