Fidel es Cuba Cantata to be held in Havana

Havana, 13 August (RHC) The Mariana de Gonitch Singing Academy and its professional company Las Voces will offer a grand cantata entitled Fidel es Cuba (Fidel is Cuba) on Tuesday in Havana.

The show, a tribute to the historic leader of the Revolution on the 98th anniversary of his birth, will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the National Theater, Maestro Hugo Oslé, director of the musical group, told the Cuban News Agency.

He recalled that on Monday at 3:00 p.m., as part of the activities for the 95th anniversary of Radio Progreso and the 42nd Viva Mexico Cultural Day, a Mexican song contest was held at the station's headquarters.

The awards ceremony of the contest and a gala dedicated to this sister nation will be held on Wednesday, August 14th, also at 3:00 p.m. at Radio Progreso.

On August 16, at 9:00 p.m., at the Balcón de mi ciudad, near Maceo Park, the Mariana de Gonitch Singing Academy will offer the closing show of Viva México Day, dedicated to commemorating another anniversary of the Grito de Dolores, an event that in 1810 marked the beginning of the War of Independence in this country.

Also, on the 23rd, when the Federation of Cuban Women celebrates another anniversary of its creation, the concert Por siempre Vilma will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Mayabequense municipality of Bauta, according to Hugo Oslé. (Source: ACN).
