The Cuban team lost its second match in the Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup against Canada

Havana, September 15 (RHC)-- The Cuban team lost its second match in the Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup against Canada 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-10). The Canadians were superior in all aspects, in attack (33-15), blocking (8-2) and service (14-3).

Hillary Howe led Canada's offense with 16 points, including 3 blocks and 2 aces, while Natasha Calkins and Avery Heppell added 9 each, according to Norceca's website.

For the Cubans three players scored four units per capita, middle blockers Dayana Martinez and Yensy Kindelan, and corner player Claudia Tarin. The rest scored only two or one goal.

Their technical director Joel Olazabal considered that "in the first part of the sets we were fighting evenly, point to point, but things were different when they started scoring four to one of us."

"This is a very young team for this kind of competition, but the girls are trying to do the best they can. Every once in a while we catch some good moments." 

Shannon Winzer, Canada's coach, noted that her girls were more aggressive than in Monday's duel when they defeated Puerto Rico, "We were much better with our serves. I think we have good things ahead of us in the tournament".
