Havana, October 23 (RHC)-- The Houston Astros beat the Boston Red Sox 5-0 to win the American League championship series 4-2 and advance to the final of the elite baseball in the United States.

In the Astros' victory, the exceptional work of their starter, the Venezuelan Luis García, who in 5.2 innings allowed only one hit, gave up one ticket and struck out seven opponents, played a fundamental role.

Relievers Phil Maton, Kendall Graveman, Ryne Stanek and Ryan Pressly silenced the Red Sox offense.

In the second game of the championship series, Garcia was beaten by the Red Sox, as he allowed five runs and two hits with three tickets in a one-hit shutout.

The game was close 2-0 until the bottom of the eighth inning when right fielder Kyle Tucker hit a home run through the left side to seal the 5-0 victory, which gave the Astros their third consecutive success, the American League title and a ticket to the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series.

The Red Sox left Houston's Minute Maid Park with a 1-1 split and, after taking a 2-1 lead at Fenway Park, lost two games in a row and fell in the Astros' homestand.

With the victory, the fans at Minute Maid Park rejoiced, as did the players on the field, who now await the winner of the National League championship series between the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers, which is 3-2 in favor of the former.
