Simón, MVP in the final game

Havana, May 12 (RHC) - With great contributions from star Robertlandy Simón (MVP of the match) and young talent Marlon Yant, Cucine Lube Civitanova retained the title of the Italian Volleyball League, beating Perugia of Cuban-born Polish national Wilfredo León 3-0, to win the final series three wins to one.

Simon scored 10 points, but as usual played a great game, shining in all aspects of the game, to win his third scudetto with the famous Italian club.

Meanwhile, Yant (20 years old) was crowned champion in his second season in the Lube, the first in which he had to start due to Osmany Juantorena's injury, scoring 11 points, several in crucial moments in front of some 4,000 fans at the Eurosuole Forum.

The best scorer for the Lube was the stellar Zaytsev (13 points), followed by Yant (11), Lucarelli and Simon, both with 10.

For the Civitanova club it was its seventh scudetto, third in a row.
