Sports narrator and commentator René Navarro Arbelo, who worked for almost five decades in Cuban television, received the 2022 National Television Award.

Havana, October 3 (RHC)-- Sports narrator and commentator René Navarro Arbelo, who worked for almost five decades in Cuban television, has received the 2022 National Television Award.

Navarro Arbelo has distinguished himself in the narration of world, Pan American and Central Caribbean volleyball, athletics, basketball and cycling competitions, among others.

He baptized the generation of the women's volleyball team that won almost all the awards during the 1990s as the Spectacular Morenas of the Caribbean.

René Navarro Arbelo has received other awards such as the Abelardo Raidi Lifetime Achievement Award, granted by the International Sports Press Association, and the Sports Lifetime Achievement Award, granted by the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC).
