Havana, March 1 (RHC) - The World Indoor Athletics Championships will start this Friday with four finals and the presence of 651 athletes from 133 countries, including Cuba, which will present four triple jumpers, two for each gender.

The finals of the day will be the shot put (m and f), the high jump for women and the 60-meter dash for men as a luxury closing event.

Cuba, one of the first powers in this discipline in these events, will be represented by the triple jumpers Lazaro Martinez, the exponent champion, Leyanis Perez, Cristian Napoles and Liadagmis Povea.

The Cubans will make their debut on Saturday in the men's triple jump and one day later the women will compete.

In the historical medal tally, Cuba ranks in the top ten with 51 medals (19-17-15), second only to the great powers.
