Havana, Aprril 13 (JIT)-- Cubans Liván Moinelo and Raidel Martínez, both from Pinar del Río, were key in the victories of their teams in the Japanese Professional Baseball League 2024.

The left-handed Moinelo achieved his first victory of the campaign on Saturday, after allowing only three hits and no runs in eight complete innings. His team, SoftBank Falcons, defeated the Seibu Lions 11x2.

At the Belluna Dome in Tokorozawa, the fast bowler struck out seven opponents and gave up one walk to leave his record at 1-1 and improve his ERA to 0.82, a figure that places him as the third best in that department in the Pacific League.

In his last two appearances, Moinelo has worked 14 scoreless innings. SoftBank's coaches made no mistake in converting him from a reliever to a starter.

Raidel earned his fifth save of the season in the Chunichi Dragons' 5x2 win over the Hanshin Tigers.

At the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya, the right-hander from Pinar del Río pitched a perfect relief game. His effectiveness remained at 0.00 and increased his lead in the Central League's saves lead.

At the Kyocera Dome, in Osaka, the Orix Buffaloes defeated the Nippon Ham Fighters 5x1. For the losers, Cuban Ariel Martínez had one hit in four opportunities to improve his average to .098.
