Havana, May 15 (JIT).- Triple jumper Lázaro Martínez will be among the main protagonists of the specialty at the Mohamed VI International Athletics Meeting in Marrakech 2024, the fourth stop of the current Diamond League.

According to the registration released this Tuesday, the man from Guantanamo appears in the middle of a list that includes two Olympic champions and the current world champion, which predicts a fierce battle for victory.

Lázaro, who has not yet debuted this season outdoors, will arrive this Sunday at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech with a top mark of 16.87 meters, achieved indoors.

The runner-up of the world at the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships has a personal record of 17.51 meters and forms the group of six exponents from the Island who have so far ensured his presence at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Burkinabé Hugues Fabrice Zango, universal monarch in the Hungarian capital and Olympic bronze medalist in Tokyo 2020, will also compete in the Moroccan event, owner of a record of 17.12 meters in the current campaign.
