Paris, July 29 (RHC)-- The Olympic Games witnessed this Sunday the protest against the genocide in Gaza by Israeli forces, when fans attending the football match between Israel and Paraguay launched a giant poster that read "Genocide Olympics."

During the men's Group D match between Israel and Paraguay at the Parc des Princes Stadium, peaceful protesters demonstrated against the systematic attack by Zionist forces against Palestine that has left, in Gaza alone, more than 39,000 Palestinians murdered.

Those who spoke out against Israel's war have joined the continued call for Israel not to participate in the most anticipated sporting games in the world.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), responsible for organizing the Olympic Games, did not decide to ban Israel, while French President Emmanuel Macron said that the war between Russia and Ukraine and Israel's attacks on Gaza were very different situations, referring to the committee's ban on Russia in 2022.

President Macron had argued that Israeli athletes should be able to compete under their own flag, even though Israel has already killed more than 39,000 Palestinians.

France is hosting the Olympic Games that will last until August 11, with 10,500 athletes from 206 delegations participating in Paris.
