Luis Alberto Orta, bronze medalist
Paris, Aug 8 (RHC) Luis Orta won the bronze medal today in the 67-kilogram division during the last day of the Olympic Games gecorroman wrestling.
The Havana native had been defeated in his second presentation by Iranian Seid Esmaeili who forced Orta to go through the repechage.
In the repechage fight, Orta emerged victorious by superiority (9-0) against the Algerian Ishak Ghaiou. Hours later, Orta faced Armenian Slavik Galstyan and was also victorious 7-0.
Thus, Orta joined the illustrious list of Cuban classical gladiators with more than one medal under the five rings, which includes Mijaín López, Filiberto Azcuy and Juan Luis Marén.
