Paris, Aug 21 (PL) - The arrival of the first athletes to the Paralympic Village of the Paris 2024 Games is scheduled for Wednesday, a facility that will host more than four thousand athletes from 182 countries.

A week before the start of the event, scheduled from August 28 to September 8, life and color will return to the same venue that just a few days ago welcomed the protagonists of the Olympic Games in the City of Light, held from July 26 to August 11.

According to the organizers of the great Paralympic sport festival, the conditions are ready to receive the competitors, their coaches, doctors and other support staff.

In this regard, they specified that the Village built for Paris 2024 meets the requirements to serve both Olympic and Paralympic athletes in terms of mobility, accommodation and other facilities.

A peak in the number of athletes entering the facility located in the municipalities of Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen-Sur-Seine and L'Île-Saint-Denis is expected for Wednesday, where in the following days the average number of arrivals will be around 500-800.

During the Olympic Games, 14,500 athletes and accompanying persons were received, a figure that will drop to 9,000 for the Paralympics.

In spite of the conditions created in the Village, many athletes complained about the rooms and food, some of them world-renowned, such as the five-diamond world champion swimmers Ariarne Titmus (Australia), Adam Peaty (United Kingdom) and Thomas Ceccon (Italy).
