Havana, Dec 10 (ACN) The Cuban men's volleyball team already has its rivals and venues for the seventh edition of the 2025 Nations League (VNL). The Cuban team will begin its action in Rio de Janeiro, with Slovenia, Brazil, Ukraine, and the United States as its rivals.
According to the schedule released by the International Federation, in the first week of the tournament, the Cubans will face the Slovenians on June 11, followed by the Brazilians (12), the Ukrainians (13), and the Americans (15), with a break on the 14th.
For the second week, their opponents will be Germany (June 25), the local team Serbia (26), the Netherlands (27), and Argentina (29) in that order, with a break on the 28th, to be held in Belgrade.
In Gdansk, Poland, they will meet the Bulgarians (July 16), the Poles (17), the French (18), and the Chinese (20), respectively.
The largest of the Antilles finished in ninth place in the previous version of the VNL, with gold, silver, and bronze medals for France, Japan, and Poland, in that order.
The French won the title at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, escorted by the Poles (silver) and the Americans (bronze). Cuba did not qualify for the multi-sport event in the City of Light.
The Cuban team is in twelfth place in the world ranking, headed by Poland, followed by France and the United States, respectively.
