Havana, Apr 13 (RHC) - The Cuban national team qualified for the Women's Handball World Championship in Germany and the Netherlands 2025.

It won the Norca Women's Handball Tournament of Mexico 2025 undefeated, defeating the hosts in the final 32-21.

The Cubans won all their matches in the regular stage: against Puerto Rico (35-23), Canada (29-19), Mexico (27-21), and finally the United States (34-16).

This earned them a formidable +56 goals scored/allowed differential that describes the superiority with which they won the tournament.

In this way they returned to the world championship after two editions without attending since the last time in 2019.

With this title they also became the top winners of the Norca in its sixth edition, with three crowns, followed by Puerto Rico with two and Greenland, which won in the 2023 edition.

The qualification joins that of the men's team that recently participated in the world championship held in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway.

It is the fifth time that the Cuban women have competed in the biggest event of the discipline, counting those of 1999, 2011, 2015, and 2019.
