The Cuban U-17 soccer team faces Jamaica today in the 3rd round of the CONCACAF world qualifying cap, based in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
So far, the Cubans have 1 loss and 1 draw in Group A, after their loss in the debut against the United States 5-0 and then having a 1-1 draw with Honduras, thus exhibiting only 1 point to take 5th place while the Jamaicans yielded 0-2 against Honduras but then beat Guatemala 2-1 to show 3 points.
The group is led by the United States (6), followed by Honduras (4), Guatemala and Jamaica (3), and Trinidad and Tobago with (0) points.
The Cuban squad is almost bound to win today in a game against Jamaica to continue looking for 1 of the 4 tickets awarded to the World Cup U-17 to be held this year in Chile.
Group B is led by Mexico and Canada with 6 points each, followed by Panama and Costa Rica tied with 3, while St. Lucia and Haiti are very close to be eliminated after losing their first 2 presentations.
Cuba has attended 2 World Cups Sub-17 years: Scotland 1989 and Italy 1991.
Three Cuban racket players intervene since Friday at the International Table Tennis Open of Yucatan, Mexico, which will be played at the Kukulcan Sports Complex.

Triathlon
Cuba's Leslie Amat will participate at the Pan-American Triathlon Championships in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica, this Sunday to score world ranking points with a view toward the continental game in Toronto, Canada.
Amat, who travels to Costa Rica today, will be accompanied by coach Dióseles Fernández.
The lid is attended by more than 200 athletes between the ages of 12 and 70, and the winner will add 200 units in the continental ranking.
In the elite section, where the Cuban will take part, includes the Olympic distance of 1500 meter swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km race.
Besides Cuba and Costa Rica, the United States, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Canada will compete in the women's event.
Amat comes to this event with the support of having obtained the 2nd seat in the Colombian edition of Barranquilla, held in late February, only surpassed by the Cuba's Lisandra Hernández, who won her title with the only available berth to Toronto to represent Cuba so far.
