Paris, September 26 (RHC/Prensa Latina)--French President François Hollande on Monday called on the United Kingdom to take its share of responsibility for the complex migration situation in the French city of Calais.

Hollande, who was visiting that northern city for the first time during his mandate, called on British authorities to contribute to the humanitarian effort being undertaken by France.

Nearly ten thousand undocumented immigrants are gathered in Calais as they wait for an opportunity to reach in the United Kingdom by crossing the Eurotunnel running under the British Channel.

The migrants are crowded together in an irregular camp known as “the jungle,” given its precarious conditions.

Hollande noted that the Uk's decision to exit the European Union should not exempt London from its obligations regarding France.

The French president ratified the intention to dismantle camp in Calais definitely. Visiting a refugee camp over the weekend, Hollande said that the plan is to distribute the migrants into shelters nationwide.
