Washington, April 28 (RHC)-- The White House says President Donald Trump told the leaders of Canada and Mexico that the U.S. will remain part of NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, while the president seeks to renegotiate the deal.
The reported phone calls with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Enrique Peña Nieto came just hours after administration officials said the president was preparing to begin withdrawing the U.S. from NAFTA.
On the campaign trail, Trump called NAFTA the "single worst trade deal ever approved in this country."
