Havana, April 12, (RHC), -- The Colombian government and the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia(FARC) on Friday ended the 23rd round of peace talks in Havana, with progress in issues relating to illicit drugs.

The ultimate solution to illicit drugs must be framed in the already agreed Comprehensive Rural Reform and must engage communities in the design, execution, monitoring, control and evaluation of plans, said the two parties in a joint statement.

The two sides started to discuss the issue of illicit drugs in November 2013, after agreements on rural development and political participation.

Delegates from the government and the guerrillas are scheduled to return to the negotiating table on April 24 to continue the dialogue started in November 2012.
