Washington, November 4 (RHC)-- Baseball players from the U.S. World Series champions the Washington Nationals visited President Trump at the White House on Monday -- but pitcher Sean Doolittle said he was boycotting the visit.

Sean Doolittle has been an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights, refugees and disability rights. Doolittle, who has a brother-in-law who is autistic, said he was boycotting the visit over Trump’s mocking of a disabled reporter, as well as Trump’s anti-LGBT policies and his attacks on refugees.

Doolittle told The Washington Post: “There’s a lot of things, policies that I disagree with, but at the end of the day, it has more to do with the divisive rhetoric and the enabling of conspiracy theories and widening the divide in this country. … At the end of the day, as much as I wanted to be there with my teammates and share that experience with my teammates, I can’t do it.”
