Brasilia, November 20 (RHC)-- Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research warns deforestation of the Amazon has skyrocketed since the election of far-right Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Between August 2018 and July 2019, the Amazon rainforests in Brazil lost an area of about 12 times the size of New York City, a 30% increase since the previous year and the highest total loss of rainforest habitat since 2008.
