Venezuelans turned out to vote on Sunday.

Caracas, December 6 (RHC)-- Nearly 1,500 observers and 300 representatives from more than 34 countries are accompanying this Sunday the elections to the Venezuelan National Assembly, within the framework of the National and International Watch Plan coordinated by the National Electoral Council (NEC) of the South American country.

Different social organizations, members of multilateral organizations, leaders of political parties, and social leaders from the five continents of diverse political currents are present in the development of the parliamentary elections.

At the national level, the CNE has set up 14,221 voting centers where 20,733,941 people will elect 277 deputies who will take office on January 5, 2021 to exercise legislative functions until 2026.

Danny Shaw, researcher from the Public University of New York and electoral observer, highlighted the Venezuelan electoral process.  "I have been able to confirm that everything that is spoken in my country (the United States) is a lie, and Venezuelans could well give lessons in democracy to Americans," Shaw said during an interview.
