Jefferson City, December 9 (RHC)-- Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt says he will support a lawsuit filed by Texas AG challenging the election results in four battleground states.  "Election integrity is central to our republic.  And I will defend it at every turn.  As I have in other cases - I will help lead the effort in support of Texas’ #SCOTUS filing today.  Missouri is in the fight," Schmitt wrote on his Twitter account late Tuesday.

This comes after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton questioned the election management in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, claiming that the violations have directly impacted voters in his state.  He also asked the U.S. Supreme Court to invalidate these states' 62 Electoral College votes, a move that would swing the election to US President Donald Trump.

“If other states don’t follow the Constitution and if their state legislature isn’t responsible for overseeing their elections ... it affects my state,” Paxton told Fox News. “Our job is to make sure the Constitution is followed and that every vote counts. And in this case, I’m not sure every vote was counted. Not in the right way.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a GOP bid to overturn the victory of President-elect Joe Biden in the state of Pennsylvania.  The Nevada Supreme Court also announced on Tuesday that it has found no evidence supporting the claims of fraud and wrongdoing in the state's election process.

Trump has so far refused to concede defeat in the election and mounted multiple legal challenges to reverse the results in several key states.  However, his campaign’s efforts have so far met with little success in the courtroom or on the ground.
