Ramallah, February 13 (RHC)-- Israeli forces have used force to disperse weekly anti-settlement protests in several areas across the occupied West Bank, leaving dozens of people injured.  Troops attacked a peaceful anti-settlement rally in the village of Beit Dajan, east of Nablus City, on Friday.  The eastern part of the village is threatened with seizure by Israel.

Shehab News Agency quoted local sources as saying that a protester was injured by live rounds fired by the Israeli forces, while another was hit by rubber bullets.  Dozens of Palestinian people also suffered breathing difficulties due to inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli troops at the protesters.

Clashes also erupted between anti-settlement protesters and Israeli forces in the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah City, on Friday.  An unspecified number of people suffered breathing difficulties during the clashes.

Also on Friday, Israeli forces used rubber bullets against protesters in Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya City, leaving eight people injured.  Tens of people also suffered breathing difficulties.

Israeli forces also attacked Palestinians who performed Friday prayers in an area threatened with seizure by Israel in the northern part of the West Bank.  One of the worshipers was hit in his head with a tear gas canister and ten others suffered breathing difficulties in al-Marhat and al-Ras, west of Salfit City.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said in a statement on Friday that its medics dealt with 46 injuries in several areas across the occupied West Bank, including the village of Beit Dajan, the city of Salfit, the villages of al-Mughayyir and Ras Karkar in Ramallah Province, the village of Hamsa in the Jordan Valley, and the village of Kafr Qaddum.

According to the statement, one of the injured suffered a gunshot wound, while six others were hit by rubber bullets fired by Israeli troops at the protesters.  The 39 other injures were of Palestinians who suffered breathing difficulties due to inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli forces.
