Brasilia, February 22 (RHC)-- In Brazil, labor unions, social and political activists and movements returned to the streets this Sunday to demand the resignation of the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, for his mis-management in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Protests against President Bolsonaro took place in events throughout Brazil and were divided between caravans and marches in different states of the country.

Brasília, the capital, registered dozens of protests against Bolsonaro.   The demonstrators carried Brazilian flags, as well as those of social movements and political parties.  Organizers of a car caravan called for more vaccines against the virus.

In Bahia, the protest consisted of planting crosses in memory of the victims of COVID-19; while the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) published on its social networks the carts, bicycles and tracks that were used to demonstrate popular disagreement with federal policy.

In Rio Grande do Norte, the protest caravan demanded the resignation or impeachment of the president and the return of emergency aid to families due to the pandemic; while in Campo Grande, the Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT) promoted a rally with the request for more vaccines and the firing of Bolsonaro.
