La Paz, March 15 (RHC)-- Bolivia's Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, at a press conference on Sunday reported the arrest of Yassir Molina, leader of Resistencia Juvenil Cochala (RJC) -- "an armed and motorized group in the Department of Cochabamba," accused of attacks and destruction of the facilities of the Attorney General's Office on October 6, 2020.

The government representative on his Twitter account specified that "from the city of Sucre we report that we proceeded to the fulfillment of the arrest warrant issued by the Departmental Prosecutor's Office of Chuquisaca against Yassir Molina, leader of the Cochala Youth Resistance organization."

The high Bolivian official also said that at the time of the apprehension by the Bolivian Police, "the RJC leader was consuming alcoholic beverages with five of his companions, they restrained him from using stones and beer bottles to attack police officers."

"It is for this reason that the police officers used force, after warning to obstruct the work of the institution of order, said the Bolivian Minister of Government and also noted that Yassir Molina is being investigated for the crimes of criminal organization; possession, carrying and use of conventional firearms; attack against public property; deprivation of liberty," among other charges.

On Saturday, Eduardo del Castillo said on the social network that he congratulated the great work of the "General Command of the Bolivian Police, in this great and historic task of giving justice to the Bolivian people."

The organization was involved in the outrage in 2019 to the mayor of the municipality of Vinto and militant of the Movimiento Al Socialismo, Patricia Arce, who was violated by members of this organization, local media reported.

Meanwhile, the president of the Chamber of Senators, Andrónico Rodríguez, from his Facebook account assured the group "called 'resistance' of Cochabamba that exercised violence without measure, sowing terror and fear before the population, must be held accountable before justice."
