Tegucigalpa, March 17 (RHC)-- A barrage of criticism is being unleashed against the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Honduras due to the lack of a quick count, more than 24 hours before the closing of the polls in the local process for parties to choose their candidates for next November's elections.

The CNE is waiting for the arrival in Tegucigalpa, the Honduran capital, of the electoral packages coming from all over the country, to start giving results.  The President of the CNE, Ana Paola Hall, says that this is a task that could take all week.

Although there are results with the projections made when voters left the polls, the Honduran electoral council acknowledged the delay to recover the vote count in the midst of accusations of fraud in certain areas.

More than 4,800,000 Hondurans were summoned to participate in the internal elections of the Liberal, National and Libertad y Refundación (Libre) parties, with the total participation of nine presidential pre-candidates, 1,792 pre-candidates for deputies and 4,172 pre-candidates for mayors.
