Ecuadorean presidential candidate with best chance to win

Quito, April 5 (RHC)-- Less than one week before the elections for a new president in Ecuador -- on Sunday April 11th -- presidential candidates Andres Arauz and Guillermo Lasso have five days until the end of their presidential campaigns, this time with restrictive measures by COVID-19.

This coming Thursday, April 8th, concludes the dissemination of the proposals issued by the candidates of the coalition of Creo- PSC, and UNES, this time without massive rallies, following the decree of state of emergency in the country issued last week by the current president of Ecuador Lenin Moreno.

Moreno signed Decree 1282 to confirm the state of exception for 30 days in eight provinces: Pichincha; Guayas; Manabi; Azuay; Loja; Santo Domingo; El Oro; Esmeraldas.  The curfew was established from April 2 to April 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. local time.

As part of his presidential campaign on his Twitter account, Andres Arauz confirmed this Saturday the endorsement of his candidacy by the president of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador, Jaime Vargas.

"With total humility, respect and with deep responsibility, I assume and express my appreciation for the endorsement expressed by Jaime Vargas, which commits us to move forward together towards the collective construction of a plurinational and intercultural Ecuador."

During his tour of the province of Sucumbíos, on Saturday, the presidential candidate for the Union for Hope Alliance, Andrés Arauz, said: "I would like to make a commitment to the entire province of Sucumbíos, we believe that the territories from where the national wealth, oil, is born, should be the first to benefit from this resource," said the official website of his candidacy.
