Oslo, October 9 (RHC)-- The next round of dialogue between the government of President Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan opposition will begin next Sunday, October 17th, and will last until the 20th of this month in Mexico City, Norwegian authorities informed on Friday.

"Norway (facilitator of the meetings) confirms that the next round of the Venezuelan dialogue and negotiation will take place in Mexico City from October 17 to 20," the European country's embassy said in a message posted on its Twitter social network account.

In the most recent session of talks, which took place from September 25 to 27, both delegations agreed to condemn the "xenophobia and violence" that occurred in the city of Iquique, in northern Chile, against Venezuelan migrants.

The parties also agreed to create broad participation mechanisms in order to pacify the South American country.  In previous meetings, both the Government and the oppositions signed two partial agreements, one called for the economic and social protection of the people and the other on the Ratification and Defense of Venezuela's Sovereignty over Guayana Esequiba.

The head of the Bolivarian Government delegation, Jorge Rodríguez, has stressed that the objective of these dialogues is to defend the truth and dignity of Venezuela.

President Nicolás Maduro, meanwhile, declared that "Venezuelans want dialogue and to return to the path of recovery and prosperity."  The Venezuelan president has asked the world to cooperate in the peace of the South American country, as well as not to hinder the process between the Government and the oppositions taking place in Mexico.
