La Paz, December 20 (RHC)-- A flight sent by the Government of Argentina with a donation of one million doses of the anti-COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in the city of La Paz, Bolivia on Monday.

In a message posted on Twitter, Bolivian President Luis Arce thanked his Argentinean counterpart, Alberto Fernández, and the people of this brother country for "this important contribution from a Latin American country with vaccines produced in Argentina.  Together we will defeat the pandemic!"

Shortly before, also on Twitter, Alberto Fernandez asserted that immunity must be global to overcome COVID-19.   "So it needs the solidarity of all the people.  Happy to collaborate with our brothers and sisters."

A delegation headed by the Argentinean Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, arrived on the solidarity flight.  She was accompanied by the head of the White Helmets Commission, Sabina Frederic.

An Argentine Air Force Hercules C-130 covered the Buenos Aires-La Paz route to transport to the Andean nation what is considered the largest donation of vaccines among Latin American countries.
