Protests in Lima.   Pedro Castillo: The people are with you!

Lima, December 10 (RHC)-- The Peruvian Judiciary declared this Saturday the habeas corpus lawsuit filed on behalf of former president Pedro Castillo against the police officers of the Directorate of Special Operations (Diroes) of the National Police of Peru (PNP), requesting his immediate release.

Through a resolution of the Third Constitutional Court of Lima of the Superior Court of Justice, they reported that the alleged violation of his right to liberty, as argued by Alejandrina Casani Barbachan, who filed the constitutional appeal, had not been approved.

In view of this, they ordered the definitive filing of the present case once the present resolution is consented or executed.  On Thursday, the Second Constitutional Court of Lima declared the habeas corpus filed in favor of Castillo inadmissible.  Previously, attorney Iván Ramírez Espinoza considered that Pedro Castillo was irregularly detained for the crime of rebellion.

The Third Constitutional Court of Lima had decided to admit the lawsuit against the Judiciary based on this argument for the alleged violation of Castillo's individual liberty.
