Montevideo, May 24 (RHC)--  In Montevideo, the Uruguayan capita, a survey by Equipos Consultores revealed on Tuesday that the political coalition Frente Amplio (FA) maintains an advantage over the current ruling party in Uruguay.

The data showed that 42 percent of Uruguayans would vote for the Frente Amplio, while only 28 percent would vote for the National Party of the head of state, Luis Lacalle Pou.  Meanwhile, five percent would vote for the Colorado Party, two percent for Cabildo Abierto and one percent for the Independent Party. 

The current position of Frente Amplio is significantly better than the one it faced five years ago.   On the other hand, seven percent expressed that they would vote "blank" or "annulled" (a proportion which is higher than usual), and 15 percent said that they would not know for whom to cast their presidential vote. 

"If we compare the data with those of the previous measurement (February), we can see some continuities and some variations. The Frente Amplio loses one point (from 43 percent to 42 percent), the Partido Nacional gains four (from 24 percent to 28 percent), the Partido Colorado loses four (from nine percent to five percent), and Cabildo Abierto loses one (from three percent to two percent)", the survey indicated.
