Lima, July 28 (RHC)-- Despite the repression by the Peruvian police, social organizations and unions called for mobilizations against President Dina Boluarte for this July 28th and 29th amid of the celebration of National Holidays. 

As in previous marches and mobilizations, the organizers of the new campaign of protests reported that they will demand the resignation of President Dina Boluarte and the closure of Congress on the same day that the president-designate will address the country during the presentation of the balance of her first year in office.

Social organizations arrived in the Peruvian capital to participate in the anti-government protests called for this July 28th in rejection of the recent election of the new board of directors of Congress, for which they demand its closure and the release of former president Pedro Castillo.

"If Mrs. Dina (Boluarte) does not resign, if the Congress is not closed, the struggle will continue," affirmed on Thursday the National Unitary Coordination of Struggle (CNUL) in a news conference to offer details and causes of the demonstration in Lima.

In Lima, hundreds of people marched on Thursday through the historic center to reach the Congress, but were repressed by the National Police in the attempt of the demonstrators to reach the seat of the Congress.

Acts of repression were also registered in the city of Arequipa where hundreds of people came out in an anti-government march.   Rallies and marches against Dina Boluarte took place in the regions of Ancash, Ayacucho and Puno.
