Algiers, November 22 (RHC)-- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have held talks in Algiers.

As the chorus for an end to the Israeli regime’s genocidal campaign in the besieged Gaza Strip grows louder, it is becoming increasingly clear who the real protagonist is – the United States.

Speaking to reporters after their meeting, Tebboune described the situation in Gaza as “a human tragedy caused by the heinous crimes of the occupation.”  “We affirm the right of the Palestinian people to establish their state with al-Quds as its capital, on the borders of June 1967,” he said.

The al-Aqsa Storm Operation, lasting ten-hours, was a humiliating blow to the Israeli narrative of invincibility.  For his part, Erdogan accused Israel of committing war crimes and also called for a “just peace based on the two-state solution.”

It’s been over one month and a half since Israel launched its deadly war on Gaza. The regime is relentlessly pounding the besieged strip with airstrikes and shelling, keeping Palestinians there in a perpetual state of pain and suffering.

Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches, have also been damaged or destroyed in Israel’s relentless air and ground attacks on the besieged enclave.   Dozens of Palestinians have been killed in fresh strikes targeting civilian infrastructure.

Hospitals are not spared from Israeli bombardment either. Doctors Without Borders has expressed concern about the situation at Al-Shifa Hospital, one of the hardest-hit health facilities since the war began.

The Gaza death toll has surpassed 13,300, most of them women and children. Around 70 Israeli troops have been killed since the regime launched a ground offensive in Gaza.
