Deaths of Hani Jnena, 32, wife and daughters aged 2 and 4 led NGO to call for Biden to demand Israeli accountability

Washington, December 17 (RHC)-- A contractor for the United States’ government main aid agency and his family were killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza last month, his former colleagues have announced.

Hani Jnena, a contractor for the U.S. Agency for International Development, his wife, and their 2-year-old and 4-year-old daughters, were killed in a strike on the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City on November 5, the Washington, DC-based non-profit Global Communities said in a statement on Saturday.

Jnena and his family had sought shelter at the home of his in-laws, who were also killed in the attack, Global Communities said.

Global Communities said that in his final message to a colleague, Jnena had written: “My daughters are terrified, and I am trying to keep them calm, but this bombing is terrifying.”

“Hani was a dedicated member of our IT team in Gaza, known for his kindness and commitment to delivering essential IT services in challenging conditions,” the non-profit said.   “He, along with his wife and daughters, were beloved members of our community.  This loss is profoundly felt by our teams, particularly in Gaza and the West Bank, where Hani’s contributions and warm nature were especially valued.”
