Quito, January 25 (RHC)-- The commander of the United States Southern Command, Laura Richardson, met on Wednesday with the Minister of Defense of Ecuador, Giancarlo Loffredo. The meeting was held to "dialogue on efforts to strengthen defense cooperation."
"The United States is committed to supporting the security of the Ecuadorian people," reads the text published on the X account of the US Southern Command.
This meeting takes place in the framework of the war against organized crime groups that has the government of Ecuador. The South American country accepted U.S. assistance in the fight against criminals.
