Biden in Nevada to boost his re-election bid
Havana, Jul 16 (RHC) U.S. President Joe Biden will participate today in events in Las Vegas to boost votes and his candidacy in Nevada, a key territory in the fight for the White House.
Biden landed at Harry Reid International Airport last night to begin a two-day visit to the famous city in this western state.
The president is scheduled to attend the 115th National Convention of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) at the Mandalay Bay Resort.
The president will also attend the Vote to Live Prosperity Summit in North Las Vegas - linked to the important sector of black voters - and tomorrow he will deliver the keynote address at the annual conference of UnidosUS, the largest Latino civil rights organization in the United States.
The day before, an interview Biden gave to an NBC News reporter was released in which he reiterated that "there is no place for violence in politics in the United States" and reaffirmed that he would continue to run for president.
He added that he "does not want to be a dictator on day one. I'm not the guy who refused to accept the results of the election," a clear reference to his opponent's stance.
He warned against his opponent's rhetoric that there would be a bloodbath if he lost and that he would pardon all those arrested and convicted for the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
After the Butler attack, Biden condemned the event and even reached out to Trump by phone. He also halted his campaign activities, including a trip to Texas yesterday where he was scheduled to attend a ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Regarding the controversial debate with Trump on June 27 in Atlanta, he accepted that he had a bad night, but asked the media in general, "Why don't they ever talk about the 28 lies he (the former president) told (...) Why doesn't the press ever talk about that?
"As for Trump's announced running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, he said, "It's not unusual. "He's going to surround himself with people who will completely agree with him.

At least 17 congressional Democrats have publicly urged President Biden to drop out because they don't believe he can avoid being destroyed by Trump in November, and it appears that strong donors have plugged the money pipeline.
