Tel Aviv, July 22 (RHC)-- Praise for U.S. President Joe Biden's "ironclad" support for the genocidal war against Gaza is pouring in from Israeli leaders as Biden announces he will not run for re-election in November.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog expressed gratitude to Biden for his “friendship and steadfast support for the Israeli people over his decades long career.”

“As the first U.S. President to visit Israel in wartime, as a recipient of the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor, and as a true ally of the Jewish people, he is a symbol of the unbreakable bond between our two peoples,” Herzog said in a post on X.

For his part, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant thanked Joe Biden for his support for Israel throughout the war.

While we haven’t yet heard from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Tel Aviv confirms that he is leaving for Washington, DC on Monday, plans to visit his friend Joe Biden at the White House on Tuesday and address the U.S. Congress in a special joint session on Wednesday.

Political observers say that the visit by Netanyahu to the U.S. capital will be overshadowed by the announcement that Biden will not seek another term in office at the presidential elections on November 5th.
